In the Roman Empire, baths played a crucial role in urban life, featuring sections such as the Apoditerium (changing area), Frigidarium (cold room), Tepidarium (warm room), and Caldarium (hot room). During the Ottoman Empire, the bath was divided into four sections: changing area, warm room, hot room, and the kiln area, showing minimal changes in architectural style from the Eastern Roman period.

Manual therapy is a form of physical therapy applied only by hand, without using any device or machine. It is applied to reduce pain caused by muscle spasm, muscle tension, and joint dysfunction. It is very effective in the treatment of people with joint disorders that do not have sufficient mobility and range of motion in some musculoskeletal structures. It increases the mobility of the joints and reduces muscle tension.

MYOFASCIAL RELEASE

Myofascial release is a manual therapy method applied holistically to the muscles and surrounding fascia through mechanical stimulation.
This technique is designed to release constraints such as trigger points, muscle tension, and dysfunctions in soft tissue that can cause pain and limit movement in all parts of the body. It is a very effective method for reducing pain and increasing mobility.

When mechanical stimulation is applied to the muscles and surrounding fascia, fascia relaxation is ensured and strains and irregular tensions are relaxed.

GRASTON TECHNIQUE

The Graston Technique is a form of manual therapy known as instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization. Graston massage is performed using titanium-coated metal rods specifically designed for different parts of the body. The purpose of the technique is to ensure soft tissue mobilization by opening scar (adherent) tissues and increasing circulation. Graston massage is particularly preferred to increase the mobility of the fascia and to treat tears or injuries in muscle, tendon, and soft tissue.

RECOVERY

The word recovery means getting better and returning to the previous state.

It is an important rehabilitation modality for athletes in order to accelerate the recovery process of the muscles in the intense training tempo that they progress in line with the targets, to prevent the minor pains they feel from affecting their movement in the next training, to minimize the risk of injury, and to support the increase and continuity of performance.

The role of a physiotherapist in recovery is to assist the athlete accurately by determining the manual techniques and exercises that will increase the oxygenation of the muscles. It is also to apply stretching exercises and combined techniques to lengthen the the muscle, which tends to shorten due to intensity. The shortened rest period during intense periods should be compensated with a personalized recovery program.

KINESIOLOGIC TAPING

The basic model of Kinesio Taping applications is applied for the purpose of inhibition (prevention of function) or facilitation (facilitation of function) to muscles.

The impact of Kinesio taping is felt instantly. The band effect lasts as long as it stays in the body.

With the physiotherapy technique, the lymph fluid is ensured to be drained. In this technique, a soft massage is applied by hand. Compression is the second stage of lymphedema treatment. In compression therapy, pressure is applied to the area. Thanks to it, the healing of the area is accelerated.
